We are searching for a Food Safety Sanitation Area Manager for our branch in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. This individual must possess direct and extensive sanitation experience in meat/poultry processing plants.

As the Food Safety Sanitation Area Manager, you will play a critical role by ensuring food safety and sanitation, which is paramount to sustaining our clients' profitability and reputation for quality. This individual will lead and administer our Sanitation Program by developing documentation, processes, and programs needed to meet strict federal standards and regular USDA inspections. This individual is also responsible for developing and nurturing an excellent and positive relationship with our clients and employees through great communication and people relation skills.

Essential Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  • Drive continuous improvement by investigating and acting in response to environmental conditions that favor pathogenic bacterial growth
  • Manage the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
  • Support Facility Improvement Project initiatives
  • Required to work extended evening and weekend hours to support SQF, FDA, and other regulatory and mock audits
  • Conduct/oversee sanitation and safety training for new employees and supervisors. Assist with chemical safety training.
  • Motivate, coach, and encourage staff to reach their maximum potential
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with our best practices, policies, procedures, and applicable laws
  • Guarantee total satisfaction with our clients through great work ethic and communication. Attending weekly meetings with our clients is mandatory.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

The following are required competencies of the position that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sanitation Manager/Supervisor in a food manufacturing environment preferred
  • Understanding of GMP's, SQF, BRC, HACCP, Sanitation, practices/auditing, quality programs, preventative maintenance programs
  • Possess an understanding of industrial sanitation theory, chemistry, and chemistry verification techniques
  • Demonstrated ability in carrying out verification and validation of specialized cleaning procedures
  • Understand and comply with government regulations relating to OSHA, FDA, and EPA
  • Able to follow written or verbal instructions, communicate clearly as well as demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to communicate protocols in English and Spanish
